Someone's Gonna Die.

You know, cats are awesome. I love them. I love mine. But right now, I AM FURIOUS.

When I moved in September, I decided to go the swanky route and buy my first-ever duvet. So it may have been an Ikea duvet ... that's beside the point. Swanksville, population me.

Three days later, one of my cats peed on it. I threw it out.

This past weekend, I sucked it up, told myself to risk it, and I bought my second (Ikea) duvet. This time, with a cover. The past few nights I may have lived in fear, knowing that at any time my new cuddly protector could be tarnished. This morning, I even bunched it up, so as to minimize possible pee zones.

Tonight, I found a puddle of pee on the corner. Yes, three days later. I think the cover may be somewhat of a saviour, and as we speak, I'm soaking that sunavabitch with vinegar.

ARRRRRGGHHHH!!!! CURSE YOU, CATS!!!

The Portal Is Closing!

I don't remember if I mentioned this (and I'm way too lazy to look), but my long-ago-stolen SLR camera was replaced on Thursday! Now with amazing lens! Eeeeeeeek!!

I spent parts of Thursday and Friday night playing with long exposure slow sync flash - in particular, trying to get the following photo just right. It never happened just right, but I'm pretty pleased with the final result of round one:

I'd like to try this again soon, to get the result I really want - a background as dark as possible, and the shoe to be at a more upright and sideways angle. Wow, I just realized how boring this all is, maybe next time I should just post the picture and zip it? Zip it good? NEVER! Ok, sometimes. Shhh, it's 2:30am. I'm not alert.

YESSSSSSSSSS

Let's say that there have been some eeeenteresting things happening these past coupla days - in a good way. A great way. But most importantly... eeek...

MY CAMERA WAS REPLACED!!!

It's back, it's new, and it comes with a freaking awesome lens of my choosing. My head almost exploded when the box was placed in my hands today, cause I wasn't expecting it. BEST!

How Gorgeous Is That?

Now that we have our TVs set up in our new work area, the one immediately to our left is firmly planted on the Food Network. And the best part of the day? Barefoot Contessa!

Oh, how Jenifa & I chuckled with glee when I found this today:

Spoilers! Ha, ha, ha ... you cheeky monkey. I am so easily entertained. And now, back to the thrilling conclusion of Ina preparing a triple layer pink cake..

Christmas Cheer

Overheard this morning (they were selling trees in the parking lot @ work for charity):

*daughter carrying tree to car*
Mom: You better have chosen a good one! I don't want to spend all month being miserable!
Daughter: Drop dead!

Me Talking About Me Some More

OMG I've been tagged!

And PS: I've been lazy!

And PPS: By "lazy", I mean I forgot I was back on the blog train.

So Keah, you WIN THIS TIME ...

7 Random Things About Moi:

1. I get uncomfortably queasy when discussing/thinking about/looking at some injuries. Example one: almost fainting when Kat described, in depth, how she sliced her fingernail. Example two: fainting at the hospital when surrounded by 2 people with bloody bandages. It's like a chemical imbalance that I DO NOT WANT. But it doesn't bother me in movies!

2. I look like I'm a really good listener but really, I'm pretty horrible at retaining information. I probably don't remember a good third of what you just told me.

3. I'm a dill pickle snob. Store bought pickles need to get out of my sight - I need real Polish/Jewish deli/from a barrel type briney sh*t. And all this marketing hype about crunchy pickles being better? Bullsh. Crunchy pickles have been diagnosed, by me, with FAIL.

4. I don't mind doing things alone - eating at restaurants, going to movies, traveling, seeing concerts ... but for the most part I do prefer doing that stuff with my fave people.

5. I like to draw, but I don't like to colour. Also, I'm 5.

6. I'm one of those people who like watching concerts through a camera lens (but only if I'm close to the stage). You notice more about what a performer is doing, because you're constantly watching for "moments".

7. I really like being single. Ha, ha! Wow, that was a lame cop out.
